Stand For Peace Initiative
MISSION: Stand for Peace is dedicated to raising awareness about violence and abuse in families, dating partners, schools, and communities. Specifically, the group focuses on providing experiences where students can challenge the boundaries and stereotypes that divide them into cliques.
We are a group of Lebanon High School students who work to promote anti-violence in homes and schools. We started as a group researching people's experience with abuse at home and with bullying at school. From this, we have evolved into a group dedicated to spreading awareness about some of the issues facing today's youth.
We have participated in community service events and fundraisers, but our biggest project is Re-Do! (Respect Everyone Despite Odds) Day. Re-Do! Day is an in-school retreat which consists of guided discussions and experiential activities designed to challenge students to break out of the stereotypes and biases that lead them to form cliques and barriers between their peers.
